We went to the Nagoya Odori Neo event.
I wanted to introduce my friend to Geisha and Kabuki culture without being an annoyance and we were delighted to a wonderful experience.
Thanks to the expertise of our guide we had the chance to meet and talk to real Geisha and take pictures together.
Afterwards we saw traditional dancing performances from the Geisha with translated remarks from our guide.
Finally the main play was a combination of Kabuki, real history and modernity. An excellent way to learn about the traditions of Kabuki without getting lost in translation.
I would definitely recommend taking the same tour if I have other friends coming to Japan from overseas.

I was lucky enough to attend the Nagoya Odori Neo, a very beautiful festival with Geishas and Maikos, which mixes buyo dance + kabuki theater.
Eli explains everything very well, we also had the privilege of starting a conversation with Geishas and taking photos with them. Highly recommended.
It was a wonderful experience. My husband and I enjoyed the event and guidance by Elizabeth and her team. It was a night to remember. I never saw a kabuki show like this one before with a mix of so many performing styles, old and new. Watching the Geisha from Nagoya, Tokyo and Osaka show case their local dances was so special. Each city’s group had their own unique sense of fashion and style. Thank you so much!
